Man charged after large quantity of cannabis found after stop and check in Warrington

A man has been charged after police discovered a large quantity of cannabis following stop and check in Warrington involving a motorist using a mobile phone.

At around 7.20pm on Monday 21 February, officers performed a stop check on a black Fiat Punto at the junction of Hale Street and Forster Street, Warrington.

Following a search of the vehicle and further enquiries, officers conducted a search at an address on Forster Street.

A large quantity of cannabis was located and recovered from the property.

Xhovani Kasneci, 22, of Landsdowne Road, Tottenham was arrested and subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply class B (cannabis) possession of criminal property, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and using a mobile phone while driving.

He was remanded in custody and appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 23 February).

He was further remanded to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday 23 March.
