COVID-19 infection rates continue downward trend as only one area sees an increase in new cases

COVID-19 infection rates have fallen in all but one area of Warrington in the latest small area data revealing the town’s latest hot spots.

Only Hulme, with a small increase from 30-32 saw new infections increase, with every other area of the town showing a downward trend, as the new number of new cases over a seven day period fell below 1,000 for the first time since the large spike caused by the Omicron variant.

There were a total of 904 new cases week ending February 12, compared to 1,394 the previous week and 1,655 the week before that.
