Nine weeks of road works confirmed for Grappenhall

NINE weeks of road works have been confirmed at Grappenhall next month (March) by the borough council for carriageway repairs and strengthening.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Broad Lane from Church Lane to Grappenhall Lane; Church Lane from Broad Lane to Chester Road; Stockton Lane from Church Lane for 50 metres; From Broad Lane for 50 metres along the following lengths of road: Parrs Wood View; Hall Lane; Cartridge Lane.

The Order will be effective from 21st March 2022 for 9 weeks. The works will be carried out in phases as follows: Phase 1: Broad Lane (From the change in speed limit signs (20/40) south of the Cricket Club to Grappenhall Lane) between 9:30am & 3:30pm; Phase 2: Broad Lane/Church Lane (From the change in speed limit signs (20/40) south of the Cricket Club to Chester Road) between 7pm & 1am. The restrictions will be in place when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route for Broad Lane/Church Lane will be via Grappenhall Lane, A50 Cliff Lane, A50 Knutsford Road, A56 Chester Road and vice versa.

The restrictions are required for carriageway haunch strengthening, patching and resurfacing.
