Police investigation launched after car torched at Bewsey

POLICE have launched an investigation after a car was torched at Bewsey, Warrington, last night in a suspected arson attack.

Shortly before 10;15pm one fire crew from Warrington was called to Hoyle Street, following reports of a car well alight in a building on a car park.

The car was parked inside a building and was well alight. The crew, one firefighter wearing breathing apparatus, put out the blaze using a hose reel jet.

A second car was showing signs of heat but did not ignite.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately – a fire investigation was carried out and the incident handed over to police.
