Police investigate suspected arson attack after car torched on Padgate driveway

POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack after a car was torched on the driveway of a property at Padgate, Warrington, last night.

Shortly before 11 pm one crew from Warrington was called to reports of a car on fire on the driveway of a property on Blenheim Close, Padgate, Warrington.

Firefighters, one wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze. A thermal imaging camera was also used to monitor the temperature.

Police officers were asked to attend as it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

Earlier, just after 10.30 pm one fire engine from Warrington was called to a small fire involving rubbish on a car park in Museum Street, Warrington. Firefighters put out the fire using water. It is believed to have been started deliberately.
