One more COVID-19 related death as infection rates continue to fall with 331 new cases

ONE more COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, although infection rates are continuing to fall in the town, with 331 new cases confirmed.

The 331 (348) new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed by the UK Health Security Agency in the latest daily data, taking the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 57,248 (56,916).

Infection rates over a seven-day period have fallen to 2,271 (2,609) – 1,084.5 (1,246) per 100,000 population but are still above the national average of 985.5 (1,082.7) per 100,000, which have fallen again over a seven day period.

While one more patient has sadly died, inpatient numbers of fallen again from 77-71, while another eight patients have been discharged since yesterday.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 551 (546) 263.1 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 227.4
