PRE-SEASON training continues to gather pace at Latchford Albion, with the club announcing two friendly fixtures ahead of the NWML Premier Division season starting in March.
Firstly, on February 5, they travel to St Helens side Blackbrook, before a home fixture against Woolston Rovers on February 19.
Both fixtures will be good challenges for coach Martyn Ellis’ side, who have been back in training since early December in an attempt to gain any advantage they can following promotion last season.
Ellis said: “ Training has been hard, yet fun for the boys. The Covid challenge is still there, but the attendance and commitment to training has been fantastic which is testament to the squad we have assembled heree.
“On a further positive, it’s been good to see some former juniors returning to the club after periods away from the game, giving more competition for places throughout the squad. “
Recently the club welcomed the Under 16’s to a joint training session, where coaches and players from both sides shared ideas.
Ellis added “ The junior sides are ultimately the future of our club. It was important for them to experience how the open age functions and for us all to train as one. The turn out was brilliant and everyone benefited, and we already have plans for more sessions to be held. “
