COVID-19 infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers continue to fall

COVID-19 infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers are continuing to fall in Warrington, with no further deaths and 19 patients discharged in the past 24 hours.

A total of 545 (462) new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed by the UK Health Security Agency in the latest daily data, taking the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 55,474 (54,929).

Infection rates over a seven-day period have fallen for a third consecutive day to 4,542 (4,843) – 2,169.1 (2,312.8) per 100,000 population but are still well above the national average of 1,736.8 (1,830.5) per 100,000, which have fallen again over a seven day period.

While no further hospital deaths have been reported, inpatient numbers have fallen again from 97-85 with a further 19 patients discharged.
