MERRY Christmas & Happy New Year to all our readers and advertisers in what can only be described as another testing time for many during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While it has been tough for many we have also been blessed with some outstanding community heroes throughout the year and the pandemic, far too many to mention.
But it has been an absolute pleasure reporting on the great endeavours of many people of all ages and the various organisations who have all worked hard to make life better for those in need, especially during the floods which hit our town.
Sadly we have had to report the rough with the smooth but we honestly believe the community spirit in our town is second to none.
We look forward to reporting on all the great work and achievements by individuals and organisations and local businesses in the year ahead as we continue to report the news in an independent and impartial way.
We will also endeavour to support the community that has supported us so well for as long as we can continue to do via our Legacy project, donating £500 grants to local good causes and inspiring people.
Meanwhile, the Government’s COVID-19 dashboard will not be updated otoday, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 December 2021. Daily reporting will resume on Monday 27 December 2021.
The availability of data will vary over the festive period.
Again we will try and continue to provide the data in a balanced way, using the facts presented to us by official sources.
While we have been accused by some of “scaremongering” this is not our intention as we try and provide the facts in a balanced way, providing a free to source public news service which is fiercely proud to be independent.
