Another record 538 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Warrington as infection rates continue to soar

WHILE no more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital, infections rates are continuing to soar in the town with another record 538 confirmed today.

The 538 (477) new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed by the UK Health Security Agency, taking the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 43,915 (43,377).

Infection rates have risen again to 1,871 (1,758) – 893.5 (839.6) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which remains below the national average of 934.2 (881.7) per 100,000, which have risen again.

While no further deaths have been reported at the hospital, three patients have been discharged since yesterday, while inpatient numbers have risen from 31-34, including five in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 536 (534) 256 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 220.4.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 614 (614).
