Bus company offering free travel for people getting vaccinated

LOCAL bus company Warrington’s Own Buses has announced that from Christmas Eve until 31 December 2021, residents will be available to ride on any of their buses, on any route, for free, to get to a vaccination centre.

This means that residents who have booked their vaccines or boosters but who may need support to get to their relevant vaccination centre, can get a free return journey with any bus owned by Warrington’s Own Buses.

The only requirement to travel for free would be proof of vaccine booking for the same day you catch the bus, such as a confirmation text message, email or printed letter.

Managing Director of Warrington’s Own Buses, Ben Wakerley, said: “I am proud that we have been able to support this scheme. As a company, we always do our utmost to support our communities, so I’m therefore delighted that we are able to offer free transport to those heading to get their jab.

“It is been a challenging couple of years for all of us – including for our drivers and people who work for the company – and our passengers have been very supportive of us throughout this difficult time, so this is our way of giving something back.

“We look forward to warmly welcoming you onto our buses soon. Getting the vaccine is very important and we are glad to be playing our small part in ensuring as many people as possible can get jabbed.”
