VIDEO: IT was cold, it was wet and the country is in the midst of a pandemic but villagers showed true community spirit at the annual Lymm Dickensian Day.

For the first time in two years Town Crier Peter Powell led the procession up Whitbarrow Road and into Lymm village centre.

He was joined by members of the parish council, local school children, morris dancers and local groups, including Father Christmas on the Lymm Rotary Float.

There was little let-up in constant drizzle for the parade which was headed by members of Lymm Runners, all dressed as Santas.
