Imagine getting the in from industry experts and lenders about everything that there is to know about the home buying process, on your own terms…

Well now you can!

Warrington Mortgage Centre officially launched their Mortgage Heroes Podcast on the 1st of November, with new episodes released bi-weekly.

We’ve all seen the TV adverts and branches up and down the country for ‘Britain’s Biggest Building Society’, but how can they help you buy your first home? Nationwide have a huge offering for First Time Buyers with things like free valuations, cashback, and affordability enhancements where possible.

Sam Fox from Warrington Mortgage Centre sat down with Darren Cunliffe, Business Development Manager from Nationwide, to find out their best practices and insights to help First Time Buyers secure their first mortgage.

What can Nationwide do for First Time Buyers?

Nationwide offer First Time Buyers free valuations and £500 cash backs. But that’s not all… After recognising how increasingly difficult it is to get onto the property ladder, they’ve introduced a “Helping Hand” scheme. This affordability enhancement means that they can potentially lend you that little bit more, so that you can buy that first home you’ve been dreaming of!

What’s Nationwide’s system when applying for a mortgage?

It’s an online system, so however the customer chooses to interact with the bank the application will come through online. The first thing that will happen is you’ll get a little shopping list – a list of documents that they’ll ask for to support the application that’s come in. It’ll be quite limited and likely to ask for just pay slips and some bank statements to start with.
