SANTA made a flying visit to Walton where children and parents alike were thrilled when he made an appearance on the QEII Playing Field at the junction of Worsley Road and Walton New Road.

There was community carol singing, led by the Revd Anita Raggett of St John the Evangelist in Walton, who switched on the Christmas tree lights with Father Christmas.

Hot dogs, mince pies and hot drinks (including hot chocolate) were all available free of charge served by Hayley (Snack Shack) and her family.

Walton Parish Council Chair, Cllr Sharon Harris, said: “We are delighted to host this annual free event once again. It’s wonderful to see families getting into the Christmas spirit without having to spend a fortune. We are very grateful to Creamfields who helped to fund the event. We look forward to doing it all again next year.”
