Rylands to host Newcastle Town on Saturday

GORSEY Lane was the place for goals in November with 21 being scored in the 3 NPL West games staged at the Warrington ground, 17 being scored by the Blues.

They will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday when they host Newcastle Town, kick off 3pm.

After last Saturday’s impressive 4-2 victory at a rain lashed Bootle, Warrington Rylands will be looking to keep the pressure on leaders Marine in the title chase. Having moved into second place after beating Bootle, Rylands enter Saturday’s encounter in third place having been overtaken by Workington’s midweek draw with Bootle.

Having won two, lost two and drawn two of their last six games, Newcastle Town arrives at Gorsey Lane in 15th place in the NPL West table. Last Saturday in their last outing Newcastle were held at home to a 2-2 draw by Trafford despite taking a two goal lead.

Newcastle Town’s leading goal scorer with 7 goals to his name is Jack Van Der Lann, son of Castle manager Robin the former Port Vale, Derby County and Barnsley player.

Earlier this season Warrington Rylands visited Newcastle Town on Tuesday 17th August for both side’s second NPL West game of the season. In front of a crowd of 103 Ste Milne gave Rylands a 4th minute lead to which Luke Wall added a second in the 28th minute. Jack Van der Laan pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time but Rylands managed to hold on for the win.
