Police advise motorists to avoid Stockton Heath area due to flooded roads

POLICE are advising motorists to avoid the Stockton heath area of Warrington due to flooding caused by heavy rain.

Following heavy rainfall, motorists are advised to also avoid the roads in other areas of Cheshire, including Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Chelford and Mottram St Andrew.

Police advise that if you have to go out onto the wet roads, please adjust your driving accordingly and leave more time for your journey.

Heavy rain has caused flooding on various roads, including Chester Road, near Stockton Heath.
