One more COVID-19 death as hospital inpatient numbers rise while infection rates fall slightly

ANOTHER COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital where inpatient numbers have also increased, although infection rates have fallen slightly for the first time in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, the 149 (170) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 39,603 (39,454).

Infection rates in Warrington have fallen slightly to 1,124 (1,133) – 536.8 (541.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain above the national average of 488.2 (478.9) per 100,000, which have also risen again.

While one more COVID-19 related death has been reported at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers have risen from 26-28, including six in ICU, while three patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours.
