COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise as 198 new cases confirmed – highest number since mid-October

INFECTION rates have continued to rise in Warrington with 198 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the town – the highest number since mid-October.

The 198 (156) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 38,870 (38,672).

Infection rates in Warrington have risen again to 977 (936) – 466.6 (447) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period and remain above the national average of 439.7 (435.6) per 100,000, which have risen again after recent falls.

No further hospital deaths have been reported, and inpatient numbers have fallen from 22-20 while another five patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours.
