COVID-19 infection rates rise again with 156 new cases

INFECTION rates have risen again slightly in Warrington with 156 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the town which remain above the national rate.

The 156 (121) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 38,672 (38,516).

Infection rates in Warrington have risen again slightly to 936 (933) – 447 (445.6) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period and remain above the national average of 435.6 (438.9) per 100,000, which have fallen slightly again.

While no further hospital deaths have been reported, inpatient numbers have risen from 21-22 while a total of five patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours.
