Road resurfacing works scheduled for Winwick Road in the new year

CARRIAGEWAY resurfacing works are set to start on Winwick Road in the new year which will result in a number of temporary road closures.

To minimise traffic impact the works will take place between 7pm in the evening and 1am.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be as follows: –

Temporary Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: From A49 Winwick Road for 50 metres along the following lengths of road: Birch Avenue; Poplars Avenue (Winwick Road to Lancing Avenue); A49 Winwick Road from the roundabout at M62 Junction 9 to the roundabout at Cromwell Avenue/Sandy Lane West.

Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Various Roads in Burtonwood & Winwick) (7.5 Tonne Weight Limit) Consolidation Order 2018 in so far as it relates to Schedule 2 – 7.5T Weight Limit as follows: Entire lengths of road: Watery Lane; Hollins Lane; Mill Lane between Watery Lane and the north western end of Calver Road.

The Order will be effective from 24th January 2022 for seven weeks between 7pm and 1am, when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via A49 Newton Road, Hollins Lane, Watery Lane, Mill Lane, Calver Road and Cromwell Avenue. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.
