Lumb Brook traffic bottleneck set to remain closed due to engineering difficulties

ONGOING highway improvement works at the Lumb Brook traffic bottleneck are set to continue until December 23 due delays in materials and engineering difficulties on site.

Warrington Borough Council had previously made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 22nd July 2021. The effect of which is as follows:

Prohibition of Driving: Lumb Brook Road (Northbound) – From its junction with Stockton Lane to its junction with Chester Road/Grappenhall Road.

Prohibition of Right Turn: Stockton Lane – To prohibit any vehicle proceeding on Stockton Lane from making a right-hand turn into Lumb Brook Road.

The Order was to be effective from 26th July 2021 until 29th November 2021, however due to lead in times of materials and engineering difficulties on site the restrictions are now required to remain in place until 23rd December 2021.

The restrictions will be in place when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative routes and reason for the works remains the same as previously advertised.
