One more COVID-19 related death as infection rates continue upward trend with 171 new cases

ONE more COVID-19 related patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital while infection rates have continued an upward trend in the town with 171 new cases confirmed in the latest daily data.

The 171 (142) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 37,654 (37,483).

After two days of fall, infection rates in Warrington have risen marginally to 827 (813) – 394.9 (388.3) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain below the national average of 433.8 (430.5) per 100,000, which have increased again.

While one more hospital death has been confirmed inpatient numbers have remained at 16, with three in ICU and four more patients being discharged.
