COMMUNITY champion Ken Wormald has been elected chair of the Latchford West branch of the Labour Party.

Mr Wormald, aged 69, is already chair of the Warrington Older People’s Forum (OPF) which meets at Whitecross Community Centre and aims to break down isolation among older people.
He is also vice-chair of Victoria Park Residents’ Association (ViPRA) which aims to provide the opportunity for local residents to pursue activities.
A former psychology teacher and carer, Mr Wormald will be working closely with Latchford West’s two Labour councillors, Maureen McLaughlin and Les Morgan.
Mr Wormald, of New Road, Latchford, said: “I have been an active member of the Labour Party for many years and am looking forward to this new challenge.”
Faisal Rashid, chair of the Warrington South Constituency Labour Party, said: “I am delighted that Ken has been able to take on this new role because he is the ideal candidate and is very passionate about local issues.”
