Celebrating 25 Years of Payment Excellence!

WARRINGTON-based ICC Solutions Limited is celebrating 25 years in the payments industry.

Starting out in 1996 with three staff members and a big dream the company now exports to over 100 countries, has numerous awards under its belt, and is now using its skills and experience to help others.
Initially the brainchild of Chief Executive David Maisey, the company has been a driving force in the migration and adoption of EMV testing around the world. Simply put, it’s partly thanks to ICC Solutions that you can walk into a shop and make a secure payment with your chip card or phone.
Over the last 25 years, payments have seen an incredibly swift evolution from contact chip cards to contactless and mobile payments, and even wearable technology. This evolution continues rapidly, and the team at ICC Solutions work tirelessly to ensure that the company keeps pace with the global demand for testing of this new technology.
With all that experience followed incredible recognition for the company. Since 2001, ICC Solutions has won numerous awards and accolades, including four Queen’s Awards for International Trade and Innovation in 2012, 2016 and 2017. This has spurred the Directors on to work closely with the Department for International Trade, helping other businesses in the export journey and being an advocate for British Exporting.
“Being such a successful exporter has given us tremendous knowledge and experience, enabling us to support others navigating their export journey. Not only do we assist businesses across the UK, but we have also used this experience to work with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards – designing and implementing an exporting Skill for young people working towards their DofE Award. It has truly been a rewarding project, and we hope to inspire young people to find a new generation of exporters”.
Additionally, they have also channelled time into supporting several charities including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, Warrington Youth Club and Cheshire Community Foundation.
The ultimate acknowledgement for David and Wendy Maisey, the Directors at ICC Solutions, came when they each were awarded an O.B.E. in the Queen’s 2020 New Year Honours List for services to International Trade and the UK economy.
“David and I wanted to give back and have a great awareness of local and national charities that need our support. With that in mind, we have chosen three charities including Warrington Youth Zone that we particularly want to have a significant involvement in and are delighted to be able to support them. Creating local employment and training through apprenticeships is a passion of mine. We need a skilled workforce in Warrington, and we’re proud to be able to provide careers in a very niche market.
During the last 25 years in business there have been many challenges but being recognised by Her Majesty the Queen in 2020 by each being awarded an O.B.E. for our services to the UK, in particular Northern Powerhouse Export Champions, was a truly humbling and exceptional experience.”
As the company continues to meet the demands of the global demand for new payment technology, ICC Solutions looks forward to a bright future and many more years ahead.
