Three vehicle collision causes lengthy delays on M56 near Stretton

A three-vehicle collision involving a HGV and two cars on the M56 near Stretton, Warrington, caused lengthy delays during the evening rush hour.

The collision took place at around 16.:50 on the M56 eastbound between junction 10 to junction nine
Firefighters from Lymm attended at the scene. The collision involved a HGV and two cars.
No one was believed to be trapped inside. One person was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
At one time there was congestion of nearly six miles adding up to an hour to journey times.
But all lanes have now re-opened.
