One more COVID-19 related death and 203 new cases as infection rates rise again

ONE more COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, while 203 new cases have seen infection rates rise again in the town.

The 203 (193) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 33,553 (33,350).



Infection rates in Warrington have risen again, after two days of falls, to 1,357 (1,323) – 648.1 (631.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain well above the national average of 465.4 (454.5) per 100,000, which continue to rise.
While one more patient has died at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers remain at 42, with four discharged since yesterday.
Meanwhile, a further 180 COVID-related deaths and 49,298 new infections have been recorded in the UK.
The figures also show there were another 48,732 first doses of a COVID vaccine administered in the latest 24-hour period – meaning a total of 49,603,139 people have had at least one jab.
A total of 45,486,950 people have now had two jabs, an increase of 26,828 on the previous day.
The UK total for deaths within 28 days of a positive COVID test now stands at 139,326.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 513 (511) 245 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 207.7.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 593 (593).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Friday, October 22 2021 was 180 (115), taking the total number of deaths to 139,326 (139,146).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 49,298 (52,009), taking the total number to 8,689,949 (8,641,221).
Across the country, there are 8,238 (8,142) patients currently in hospital and 892 (872) on ventilation.
