One more COVID-19 related death and 251 new cases as rates continue to rise

ONE more COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital while infection rates continue to rise in the town with 251 new cases- the highest number since mid-July.

The 251 (186) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 32,112 (31,861).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again to 1,136 (1,090) – 542.5 (520.5) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period and remain above the national average of 381.4 (372.6) per 100,000, which has also risen.
While the number of hospital deaths has risen to 536, inpatient numbers have fallen from 37 to 32 with four patients discharged since yesterday.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 509 (509) 243.1 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 206.1
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 591 (591).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Thursday, October 14 2021 was 157 (136), taking the total number of deaths to 138,237 (138,080).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 45,066 (42,776), taking the total number to 8,317,439 (8,272,883).
Across the country, there are 7,024 (7,011) patients currently in hospital and 781 (780) on ventilation.
