One more COVID-19 related death and 74 new cases as rates fall

ONE more COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington hospital while the town’s fluctuating infection rates have fallen again slightly with 74 new cases.

The 74 (91) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 28,419 (28,345).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen slightly again to 716 (723) – 341.9 (345.3) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 360 (373.7) per 100,000, which have fallen again.
While one more death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers have also risen from 15-18 with 3 in ICU.

Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 30,597 new COVID cases and a further 201 coronavirus-related deaths, with the number of coronavirus patients in hospital over 8,000 for the seventh day in a row.
The total number of people in hospital with coronavirus in the UK currently stands at 8,340 – it has been over 8,000 for eight of the past nine days.
The last time figures surpassed 8,000 was in early March.
The number of patients in mechanical ventilation beds currently stands at 1,060 – the figure has been over 1,000 every day since the last day of August. Before this, the last time the number was as high was in mid-March.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 503 (502) 240.2 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 200.7.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 580 (579).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Wednesday, September 15 2021 was 201 (185), taking the total number of deaths to 134,647 (134,446).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 30,597 (26,628), taking the total number to 7,312,683 (7,282,810).
Across the country, there are 8,340 (8,413) patients currently in hospital and 1,060 (1,056) on ventilation.
