HIGH Legh Pre-School Nursery hosted a family fun-day to celebrate its 50th anniversary earlier this month.

Families enjoyed a whole host of activities including a bouncy castle, stalls, cake sale, games and crafts and the event raised £675 for the pre-school, which is a registered charity.

Jenny Cookson, co-chair of the parent-led pre-school committee, said: “Our nursery has been at the heart of the High Legh community for half a century, providing care for generations of families, so it was wonderful to be able to celebrate this momentous anniversary with the wider community, who have supported us so much over the years.

“As a registered charity, we rely heavily on our fundraising events held throughout the year, which all had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, so this was a particularly special occasion as not only was it our 50-year anniversary, it was the first time all our families and the community have been able to join together.

“It was a fantastic day, attended by families both past and present, and the money raised will help secure the future of our pre-school and ensure we can continue to provide the high-quality care and nurturing learning environment that we are known for.”
