No further deaths but COVID-19 infection rates rise slightly as 91 new cases reported

While no further deaths have been reported at Warrington hospital the town’s fluctuating COVID-19 infection rates have risen again slightly with 91 new cases.

The 91 (114) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 28,345 (28,254).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen slightly again to 723 (708) – 345.3 (338.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 373.7 (385.9) per 100,000, which have also fallen.
While one more death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers have fallen from 21-17 over the weekend with 3 in ICU.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 26,628 new COVID cases and 185 more coronavirus-related deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
Meanwhile, another 19,428 people had their first coronavirus vaccine dose on Monday, taking the total to 48,458,700 (89.2% of over-16s in the UK).
And 60,653 people had their second jab, meaning 44,108,746 are now fully vaccinated (81.2% of over-16s).
Since the pandemic began early last year, 134,446 people have died in the UK within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test, and there have been 7,282,810 lab-confirmed infections.
It comes as the government revealed that lockdowns, mandatory face masks, vaccine certificates and working from home could return this winter as part of a “plan B” should the situation with the pandemic start to deteriorate.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 502 (502) 239.7 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 200.4.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 579 (579).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Tuesday, September 14 2021 was 185 (61), taking the total number of deaths to 134,446 (134,261).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 26,628 (30,825), taking the total number to 7,282,810 (7,256,559).
Across the country, there are 8,413 (8,256) patients currently in hospital and 1,056 (1,055) on ventilation.
