One more COVID-19 death and 111 new cases although infection rates fall slightly

ONE more COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital while 111 new cases have been confirmed in the town although infection rates have fallen slightly.

The 111 (115) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 27,959 (27,848).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen slightly to 707 (739) – 337.6 (352.9) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 392.1 (383.6) per 100,000, which have risen.
While one more death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers have remained at 21, while five patients have been discharged with two in ICU.
Meanwhile, the UK The UK has recorded 147 more coronavirus-related deaths and 37,622 new COVID-19 infections in the latest 24-hour period.
Since the pandemic began early last year, 133,988 people in the UK have died within 28 days of testing positive for COVID and there have been 7,168,806 lab-confirmed infections.Also, 25,774 people received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine yesterday, bringing the total to 48,370,340 (89% of people aged 16 and over in the UK).
And 96,702 had their second jab on Wednesday, meaning 43,805,608 are now fully vaccinated (80.6%).
