Three more COVID-19 deaths and 115 new cases as infection rates continue to rise

THREE more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital while 115 new cases have been confirmed in the town as infection rates continue to rise .

The 115 (121) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 27,848 (27,733).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again to 739 (704) – 352.9 (336.2) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 383.6 (377.4) per 100,000, which have risen.
While one more death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers have fallen from 27-24, while seven patients have been discharged with five in ICU.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 167 more coronavirus-related deaths and 38,013 new COVID-19 infections in the latest 24-hour period.
In the last seven days, 272,334 infections have been reported, a 15.3% rise on a week earlier. And 921 fatalities have been recorded in the past seven days, a week-on-week increase of 18.5%.
Since the start of the pandemic 133,841 people in the UK have died within 28 days of testing positive for COVID-19 and there have been 7,132,072 lab-confirmed infections.
Separate figures from the Office for National Statistics show there have been 158,000 deaths registered in the UK where COVID was mentioned on the death certificate.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 499 (497) 237.8 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 199.5.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 579 (579).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Thursday, September 9 2021 was 167 (191), taking the total number of deaths to 133,841 (133,674).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 38,013 (38,975), taking the total number to 7,132,072 (7,094,592).
Across the country, there are 8,085 (7,907) patients currently in hospital and 1,060 (1,047) on ventilation.
