FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus tackled an oven fire at commercial premises at Woolston last night.
Shortly after 9.30pm one fire engine from Birchwood attended to a fire at premises on Grosvenor Grange.
The fire involved an oven and firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used a hose reel to put out the flames and the oil at the bottom of the cooker.
During another incident at 6:42pm firefighters from Stockton Heath attended to a fire involving five wheelie bins well alight at the back of a building on Lyons Lane.
A hose reel jet was used to put out the flames and crews scanned the building to check the fire hadn’t spread.
The fire is believed to have been caused accidentally.
