One more COVID-19 related death and 121 new cases as infection rates rise again

ONE more COVID-19 related patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital while 121 new cases have been confirmed in the town as infection rates continue to rise .

The 121 (99) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 27,733 (27,632).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again to 704 (686) – 336.2 (327.6) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 377.4 (370.1) per 100,000, which have risen.
While one more death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers have fallen from 27-24, while seven patients have been discharged with five in ICU.

Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 191 more coronavirus-related deaths and 38,975 new infections in the latest 24-hour period. In the last seven days, infection numbers have risen 15.3% on the week before, while the weekly death count is up 26.1%. A total of 133,674 people have now died with coronavirus in the UK, the official data showed.
Yesterday’s figures were the biggest daily increase in COVID-related deaths in six months, at a time when new infections are expected to rise further with children returning to school.
But deaths are still lower than in previous waves of the pandemic, with nearly two-thirds of the UK population fully vaccinated.
Government data shows that of the 91,940,381 jabs given in the UK as of Tuesday, 48,319,435 were first doses, a rise of 26,624 on the previous day.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 497 (497) 237.3 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 199.3.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 579 (579).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Wednesday, September 8 2021 was 191 (209), taking the total number of deaths to 133,674 (133,483).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 38,975 (37,489), taking the total number to 7,094,592 (7,056,106).
Across the country, there are 7,907 (7,976) patients currently in hospital and 1,047 (1,062) on ventilation.
