COVID-19 infection rates rise after brief fall with 99 new cases

COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington have risen again after yesterday’s brief fall with 99 new cases confirmed in the town.

The 99 (83) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 27,612 (27,513).

Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen to 686 (677) – 327.6 (323.3) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 370.1 (362.9) per 100,000, which have risen.
No further deaths have been reported at Warrington hospital, inpatient numbers have risen slightly from 26-27, while the numbers in ICU remain at 6. Three patients were discharged.

Meanwhile, four in five people aged 16 and over in the UK have now received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine – which Health Secretary Sajid Javid hailed as a “phenomenal achievement”.
A total of 43,535,098 people have had two jabs (80.1%) and 48,292,811 people have been given one dose (88.8%), according to official data.
Also, more than half of all teenagers aged 16 to 17 in England have already received their first dose, just over four weeks after the green light was given for this age group to be offered the vaccine.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Tuesday, September 7 2021 was 209 (45), taking the total number of deaths to 133,483 (133,274).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 37,489 (41,192), taking the total number to 7,056,106 (7,018,927).
Across the country, there are 7,976 (7,606) patients currently in hospital and 1,062 (1,034) on ventilation.
