COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise with 104 new cases

COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington are continuing to rise over a seven-day period with 104 new cases confirmed in the town.

The 104 (87) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 27,430 (27,326).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again, to 689 (636) – 329 (303.7) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 356.1 (344.8) per 100,000, which have also risen.

Meanwhile, across the UK 37,011 new COVID cases and 68 more coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in the latest 24-hour period.
Also, a further 39,752 people received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine on Saturday, bringing the total number to 48,245,337 (88.8% of over-16s in the UK) – And 127,156 had their second jab yesterday, meaning 43,378,193 are now fully inoculated (79.8% of over-16s).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Sunday, September 5 2021 was 68 (120), taking the total number of deaths to 133,229 (133,041).
