COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise in Warrington as 87 new cases confirmed

COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington have risen again over a seven-day period with 87 new cases confirmed in the town.

The 87 (96) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 27,326 (27,239).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again, to 636 (609) – 303.7 (290.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is still below the national average of 344.8 (351.9) per 100,000, which has fallen again.
Meanwhile, across the UK 37,578 new coronavirus cases and 120 virus-related deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours.
A further 33,587 people received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine in the latest 24-hour period, while 108,290 were given their second dose. This brings the total number of people fully vaccinated to 43,251,037, which is 79.6% of the population aged 16 and over.
It comes amid reports that the government is set to rollout COVID-19 vaccines to 12 to 15-year-olds, against expert advice.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Saturday, September 4 2021 was 120 (121), taking the total number of deaths to 133,161 (133,041).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 37,578 (42,076), taking the total number to 6,941,611 (6,904,696).
Across the country, there are 7,541 (7,5541) patients currently in hospital and 1,038 (1,038) on ventilation.
