Nursery staff nominated for top national awards

FOUR members of staff at Warrington’s Quays Day Nursery, have been nominated for the coveted national “Nursery World” awards.

Claire Oxley, manager at the Grappenhall nursery said: “I am beyond proud of each and every one of them.
“They all tirelessly strive to ensure that our children are at the heart of everything they do, going above and beyond every day in the care, learning and support they provide.



To be recognised as national finalists is testament to their passion and dedication to making every child’s journey through nursery rich, fulfilling and rewarding.”
The four staff members are assistant manager Alison O’Connor Limb, sessional pre-school supervisor Emma Hardman and Amy Delooze and Kirsty Bradburne, who are competing against each other for the “Covid Hero of the Year” title.
Alison is up for “Outstanding Contribution” for her work championing children and
their families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and Emma in the category of “Nursery Practitioner of the Year” for her outstanding practice and engaging qualities within her role.
Amy and Kirsty Bradburne have been nominated for their efforts during lockdown to ensure children and families were supported.
Nursery owner Julie Lightley said: “Given everything the team has been through in recent times and the challenges they have faced, this is such a proud moment for us all. They truly deserve to be shortlisted for this and we’ll be crossing everything for them on the night!”
The Quays Nursery is part of the Village Nursery Group which has eight sites across
Cheshire and Trafford.
The Nursery World Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday September 25.
