POLICE are investigating a large fire in woodland at Warrington which is believed to have been started deliberately by vandals.
Firefighters from Penketh went to the scene, off Stanhoe Drive, Great Sankey, last night and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting IML 1074946.
In an earlier incident, firefighters from Warrington were called to a woodland area near the Westbrook Centre where a fire had been reported. They used a water backpack to extinguish the blaze and were at the scene for about 20 minutes.
