COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall in Warrington as 98 new cases confirmed

COVID-19 infection rates have continued to fall in Warrington as 98 new cases have been reported in the latest data from Public Health England.

The 98 (142) new cases, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 27,143 (27,045).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen again, to 583 (625) – 278.4 (298.3) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is below the national average of 355.4 (357.3) per 100,000, which have fallen slightly.

Meanwhile, across the UK 178 more COVID-related deaths and 38,154 new cases have been reported in the latest 24-hour period. A further 44,088 people have received the first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, bringing the total number of people who have received at least one dose to more than 48 million.
Almost 80% of over-16s (more than 43 million people) are fully vaccinated after 113,385-second doses were administered yesterday.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Thursday, September 2 2021 was 178 (207), taking the total number of deaths to 132,920 (132,742).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 38,154 (35,693), taking the total number to 6,862,904 (6,825,074).
Across the country, there are 7,596 (7,598) patients currently in hospital and 1,030 (1,014) on ventilation.
