COVID-19 infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers fall as 65 new cases confirmed

COVID-19 infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers have fallen in Warrington with 65 new cases in the latest data from Public Health England.

The 65 (103) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 26,372 (26,307).



There have been no further deaths reported at the hospital, while inpatient numbers have fallen from 22-18.
Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen for a second day, to 717 (743) – 342.4 (354.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain slightly above the national average of 339.3 (334.4) per 100,000, which continues to rise.

Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 35,847 new COVID cases and 149 more coronavirus-related deaths in the latest 24-hour period. On Tuesday, 55,410 people were given their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, taking the total to 47,792,552 – equivalent to 87.9% of the UK’s adult population.
