COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise in Warrington, although the number of new cases reported in a 24 hour period has dropped significantly to 59, from 113 the previous day.

The 59 (113) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 26,008 (25,949).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days continue to rise to 755 (734) – 360.6 (350.5) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period and remain above the national average of 310.5 (303.5) per 100,000, which continues to rise.
Meanwhile, The UK has recorded 32,058 more COVID cases and 104 further deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
Another 57,289 people had their first coronavirus jab yesterday, taking the total number of people who have had one dose to 47,573,794. This figure now includes 16 and 17-year-olds.
And another 164,448 second doses were administered, meaning 41,496,576 people are now fully inoculated against COVID.
