AGED 17, Vicky Ellis was the youngest contestant in the Miss Great Britain contest in 1983 – and came third.

This year, aged 56, she is the oldest of 60 finalists in the first-ever Ms Great Britain Classic competition, which takes place next month.
In between, she has not exactly been idle – so much so that at one time in the Eighties she was contacted by the Guinness Book of Records because it was believed she had won more beauty contests than anyone else.

These included Miss Blackpool, Miss New Brighton, Miss National Caravan, Miss Butlins Holiday Princess, Miss Nightclub of Great Britain and Miss Morecambe Bay. And in 1988 she was again a finalist in Miss Great Britain and came third.
While all this was going on, Vicky, from High Legh, became a Mum twice!
She said: “I actually followed in my Mum’s footsteps as she won a number of beauty contests and now my daughter, Tabitha, aged 16 is already modelling and about to enter her first competition.”
Vicky’s son, Jack, is 29.
The Ms Great Britain contest was launched to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Miss Great Britain competition and the Ms Great Britain Classic is a separate contest for woman aged 40-plus.
The final will be at a gala dinner at Leicester on September 17.
Vicky has chosen to give her chances an extra boost by having her photograph taken at Warrington’s Golden Gates!
