ONE more COVID-19 related patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital while 113 new cases have been reported in the town as infection rates continue to rise.
The 113 (151) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 25,949 (25,836).
Hospital inpatients have fallen from 30-25 and another nine patients were discharged.
Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again slightly to 734 (730) – 350.5 (348.6) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period and remain above the national average of 303.5 (299.7) per 100,000, which continues to rise.
Meanwhile, England’s R number has risen to between 0.9 and 1.2, according to official data. Last week, the R value – or reproduction number – was between 0.8 and 1.0.
The UK has recorded 37,314 more COVID-19 cases and 114 deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
