THE sixth annual “Kitten Karers” ladies day at Winwick raised £600 for the charity – despite the weather.
Organiser Debby Hughes said it was a lovely day, but “spoilt a bit” by the rain.
And for this reason, it was the last time the event will be held in its present format
Said Debby: “In future we will do something indoors – perhaps a ball at a hotel.
“But I would like to thank all the shops in Culcheth who have supported us over the years with donations and raffle prizes.”
The competition for the three best-dressed ladies was won by Eileen Ellen, of Culcheth, with Elizabeth Gammon, from Warrington, second and Sarah Myers, of Culcheth, third.
The event was, as usual, in aid of the Kitten Karers charity, which is entirely self-funding and supports abandoned and unwanted kittens.
