RADIO Warrington’s 2021 poetry competition is now open and this time around anything goes!

The station’s only stipulation is poems must not exceed 500 words and all entrants must be aged 16 or over.

The writer of the winning poem will receive a £50 cash prize courtesy of Radio Warrington plus a drinks package for two at the Institution Bar in Palmyra Square, Warrington.
The writers of the second and third-placed poems will each receive a £25 cash prize and two cinema tickets.
All of the winners will have their work published widely in the local press and on social media and be given the opportunity to perform their poems live on Radio Warrington.
Last year’s competition was won by Susan Haddock of Lymm whose poem ‘Leaving Wymott’ went on to be performed by an actor from local acting studio Ludovico as part of an online culture festival.
Entries to this year’s competition must be received by midnight on National Poetry Day (Thursday 7th October 2021).
