Fire crews tackle two car fires including one believed to be deliberate

FIRE crews from Warrington were called out to deal with two car fires, including one believed to be deliberate in the town centre during the early hours of this morning.

At 00:35 firefighters were called to a car fire in Town Hill Warrington.



The crew used a hose reel to put out the fire which is thought to have been started deliberately.
They disconnected the battery and checked for hotspots with a thermal imaging camera.
Earlier yesterday at 11:45 one fire engine attended from Warrington following reports of a car on fire in a car park at Europa Boulevard, Warrington.
The crew wore breathing apparatus while using two hose reels and a lance to put out the fire.
They then used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
Absorbent mats were used to soak the diesel which had leaked from the car.
