COVID-19 infection rates fall slightly as 95 new cases reported in Warrington

ANOTHER 95 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Warrington in the latest data from Public Health England, with infection rates falling again slightly.

The 95 (86) new COVID-19 cases takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 24,602 ( 24,507).


Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen slightly to 662 (685) – 316.1 (327.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– but still above the national average of 268.6 (268.7) per 100,000, which continues to fall, just.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded another 28,612 coronavirus cases in the latest 24-hour period.
A further 103 people have died within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test, taking the total figure to 130,281 since the start of the pandemic.
Data published from Public Health England has found that a third of patients currently in hospital have already received two doses of the vaccine.
To encourage more people to get vaccinated, a new government campaign is urging young people to get their jabs or risk missing out “on the good times”.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 489 (488) 233.5 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 194.2.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 573 (573).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Saturday, August 7 2021 was 103 (92), taking the total number of deaths to 130,281 (130,178).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 28,612 (31,808), taking the total number to 6,042,252 (6,014,023).
Across the country, there are 5,631 (5,631) patients currently in hospital and 871 (871) on ventilation.
