Council issues rallying call for “care superheroes”

WITH demand for social care services in the town at an all-time high, Warrington Borough Council has issued a rallying call for “care superheroes.”

Working in adult social care can be one of the most rewarding jobs around, and there are currently a number of full and part-time vacancies across care providers in Warrington.

Demand for health and social care services in Warrington is currently so high, largely due to people that have been reluctant to come forward to get help with their needs over the course of the COVID pandemic, now reaching a point that they need to access a health and social care service.
To support this rise in demand, the council is issuing a rallying call to anyone considering a career in care, that there are a number of roles available with providers across the borough. Prospective carers can therefore complete a short online form with their details, which the council will then share with care providers in Warrington to find the best match based on your work preferences.
Cllr Paul Warburton, Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet member for statutory health and adult social care, said: “Care workers have been the unsung heroes over the last 16 months and their work has often gone unseen. Carers have performed a vital role in supporting our amazing NHS to keep people as safe, well, happy and as independent as possible in the community during the most challenging of circumstances.
“There are a number of care roles available across Warrington with our providers, and these jobs are suitable for anyone who would like a career in caring for others. Whether you have recently left college, graduated, are returning to work after a break due to family or caring responsibilities, fancy a career change or are a current care professional who is considering a new or different role in Warrington – take a look at the jobs on offer, as I’m sure there will be a role that suits you.
“You don’t need to wear a cape or to be able to fly to be a care superhero – all expressions of interest and applications from people with compassion, empathy, a listening ear and a willingness to help and support some of our most vulnerable people will be welcomed.”
