COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington have risen slightly for the first time in nearly two weeks with 80 new cases confirmed in the latest data from Public Health England.
A total of 80 (77) new COVID-19 cases have been reported, taking the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 24,187 (24,107).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have risen marginally to 703 (697) – 334.7 (331.9) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– and still above the national average of 279.5 (283.8) per 100,000, which continues to fall.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded another 138 coronavirus-related deaths – the highest daily total since 17 March.
The latest figures also show another 21,691 COVID-19 cases reported across the country.
Figures for deaths tend to be higher at the start of the week due to a lag in reporting over the weekend.
